The Wurlitzer 500 jukebox was introduced in 1938/1939 together with the wurlitzer 600. The Wurlitzer 500 was the luxe model and the wurlitzer 600 was the economy version. Distinguished by the first use of elaborate plated decorative metalwork (feature of Wurlitzer), the design department was leading the way. Moving varicolored illumination in white onyx plastic corner panels with red mottled plastic grille panels or vice verrsa, as desired. There were 4 Wurlitzer 500 types.
